Verify the Company and the Production Route

Request the company’s registered name, address, and the identity of the business issuing your quotation. Compare these details with the invoice and agreed payment beneficiary. If another business handles a payment or production stage, ask for an explanation before proceeding.

Discuss which processes are performed at the supplier’s facility and which use partners. Outsourcing is not automatically a quality failure; the important questions are who controls specifications, who checks the work, and who is responsible for your order.

• Ask for examples of products with construction similar to your design.
• Request a scheduled video walkthrough or another suitable verification method.
• Ask who will manage development, samples, inspection, and order changes.
• Check that the proposed material and finish are feasible for the design.

Test Capability with Your Actual Design Brief

Provide measurements, reference drawings, intended materials, quantities, and finish requirements. A useful response should identify unclear details and explain constraints. An immediate yes to every request is less useful than a specific explanation of how the piece can be made.

Evaluate the Sample Approval Process

Confirm the development scope, sample fees, preparation time, and revision arrangements before sampling. Review the physical prototype where practical. Keep a record of the final drawing, sample version, measurements, and any approved exceptions.

Ask how the factory will reproduce the sample and identify changes made during production. A good-looking prototype does not establish the quality of an entire order. Use the approved sample together with a written specification and agreed inspection scope.

Request a Practical Quality Plan

Discuss the checks required for your product: dimensions, connections, closure operation, stone security, finish appearance, logo placement, and packing counts. Identify which checks occur before production, during production, and before dispatch.

If laboratory reports or independent inspection are needed, agree on the products covered, test methods, costs, and timing. A general certificate or an unrelated test report does not demonstrate every attribute of your order.

Confirm Ownership and Change Control
